Balanced full paper with cloud, security, networking and open-source evaluation.
Great for security compliance, legal scenarios, and cloud-retention judgement tasks.
Best for IoT, resilience and infrastructure trade-off answers in longer evaluations.
Pick your mode: confidence boost, exam pressure, or weak-topic rescue.
Use this as a quick priority order. Start with the themes that show up most often, then work down if you have more time.
Bars show how often each theme appeared across the 7 uploaded papers. Higher bar = stronger revision priority. The buttons jump you straight into the closest guide section, quiz aim or filtered question list.
Across the uploaded set, the cleanest recurring pattern is a 6-mark draw task in Question 3(a): either a systems diagram or a flowchart.
The heaviest 10-12 mark discussion or evaluation usually lands in Question 4, often tied to cloud, policy, impact or wider organisational implications.
If time is tight, prioritise protection codes in D and online-system codes in C. They recur in both short explain items and long discuss tasks.
Each cell shows the best-fit Unit 1 code family for that exam slot. This makes it easier to revise by pattern rather than re-reading full papers one by one.
Question 1 usually opens with short applied knowledge and then moves into security, online working or communication tools.
| Paper | a | b | c | d | e | f |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Typical marks / command | 2-4 | 3-5 | 4-6 | 6-8 | 6-10 | 8-12 |

Question 2 often rotates between software / operating-system knowledge and protection of data in use or in transit.
| Paper | a | b | c | d | e | f |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Typical marks / command | 2-4 | 3-5 | 4-6 | 6-8 | 6-10 | 8-12 |

| Jun 2019 | E2.6Accessibility features | E2.5Validation checks | - | - | - | - |
This is the most stable pattern in the paper set. Q3(a) is the main draw slot, then the follow-up parts often test networks, protocols or related systems knowledge.
| Paper | a | b | c | d | e | f |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Typical marks / command | 2-4 | 3-5 | 4-6 | 6-8 | 6-10 | 8-12 |

Question 4 is where the largest judgement task usually lands, especially around cloud, policy, impact, ethics or organisation-wide change.
| Paper | a | b | c | d | e | f |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Typical marks / command | 2-4 | 3-5 | 4-6 | 6-8 | 6-10 | 8-12 |
| AAQ specimen 2025 | B1.1Connection method | B1.1Wired benefit | F1.1Acceptable use policy | A5Emerging technology impact | - | - |

| Jun 2023 | D2.1Security processes | C2.1 / F1.1Social media impact | - | - | - | - |
| 2021 paper | C2.2Online-resource implications | F1.1Ethical access limits | - | - | - | - |
| Jan 2020 | - | A4.3Whole-system update | - | - | - | - |
| Jun 2019 | C1.2Cloud cost evaluation | F1.1Moral / ethical issues | - | - | - | - |
The strongest trend call is still a protection-heavy paper with one visual draw task and at least one longer judgement question around online systems, policy or organisational impact.
| Chance | Likely area | Unit code focus | Most likely exam form |
|---|---|---|---|
| High | Security, access control and secure transmission | D1, D2, D2.1, D2.4 | 2-4 mark explain item plus a later discuss / evaluate task in a scenario |
| High | Diagram or flowchart slot | A1.3 | Q3(a), 6 marks, labelled process or system map |
| High | Cloud, hosting, remote working or online service impact | C1.1, C1.2, C1.3, C2.2 | 6-12 mark discuss / evaluate question, often near the end of the paper |
| Medium | Operating systems, NOS or software choice | A3.1, A3.2, A3.6 | 4-9 mark explain / evaluate question |
| Medium | Ethical, legal or environmental implications | F1.1, F2.1 | Longer Q4 discussion or evaluation with organisation + staff impact |
